Proactive Protagonist

Luke shows his proactive side here when he asks his aunt and uncle about Obi-Wan. In the morning, he goes after R2-D2. However, he still lets the story drag him around a bit, only coming across Obi-Wan by chance. But as the story continues, his becomes more proactive.

Story Goal

Luke's Story Goal (to save Princess Leia) is not yet solidifed.

However, this moment is Luke's first brush with that goal. He is introduced to Leia.

Brush with Antagonist

This moment provides a brush with the antagonist of Darth Vader and the Empire through Leia. Because Luke has seen Leia's message, a set of dominos begin knocking over and he will be drawn into the main conflict and his ultimate battle with the antagonist.
